What attendees see when they buy an Event Series
An Event Series sells one series ticket that covers every session of a recurring event, with optional per-session drop-ins. Attendees meet it in your calendar widget, on the hosted Event Series page, at checkout, in the confirmation email, and at check-in. This article walks through what attendees see at each step; see What attendees see when they register for how ordinary hosted event pages work.
The Event Series page
Each Event Series has its own hosted public page, labeled "Event Series". The page shows upcoming dates as date rows with their availability, and shows registration actions for buying.
The calendar widget card
In the calendar widget, the Event Series appears as its own card so buyers can purchase the whole series in one place. The Event Series badge shows on both the day chips and the day rows, so the series surfaces on every date it covers. The card explains what a series ticket covers with wording that follows the pattern "Series ticket covers N sessions". The card uses the label "Series ticket", and it shows "Starts" before the first session and "Started" once the series is underway.
Buying a series ticket or a drop-in
A series ticket is one purchase that covers every session listed on the Event Series. A drop-in is a one-off purchase for a single session, priced per that session, so a buyer who can only make one date buys just that date.
A held seat and a series ticket cannot both claim a session's last seat, so a session is never oversold.
Add-on and virtual ticket tiers cannot be included in a series ticket.
After the first live session starts
Series-ticket sales close when the first live session starts. The first date listed in the series is not necessarily the cutoff: if the opening date is cancelled or in draft, sales stay open until the first live session begins. The card then shows "Series tickets closed". If a later session still has drop-in room, the card stays open and also shows "Drop-ins available", and it directs buyers to the next available session. If no later session has drop-in room, the Event Series no longer appears in the widget.
The confirmation and calendar file
A series-ticket purchase sends one confirmation email representing the pass, not one email per session. The email lists every session the ticket covers, in the event or series timezone, and includes a single calendar file covering the full series.
Reminders and thank-you emails
The Event Series itself does not send reminders or thank-you emails. Each individual session sends its own reminders and thank-you emails, so attendees hear about every date they bought.
Check-in at each session
Attendees check in separately for every session they attend. Scanning the series ticket's QR code at a session checks the holder into that session, so one code works across the whole series. For door workflows and scanner messages, see Using QR code check-in.
