Managing Events

Cancel a class and email registered guests

You can cancel a class or event by moving it back to draft from the event detail page, then email the registered guests without leaving the same page.

Move the event to draft

On the event detail page, scroll to the Advanced section and click Move to draft in the danger zone. This action appears only while the event is published.

An inline confirmation appears with the title Move this event back to draft? (or Move this occurrence back to draft? for a recurring instance). The message reads:

It will be hidden from your site and widgets and new registrations will stop. Existing registrations are kept, and you can publish again anytime.

Click the confirm button to move the event back to draft.

What happens after you unpublish

  • The event is hidden from your site and calendar widgets.

  • New registrations stop immediately.

  • Existing registrations are kept. Guests still see the event in their account and receive any automated emails they are entitled to.

  • You can publish the event again at any time.

Email registered guests

After the event is moved to draft, the Communications panel on the same event detail page lets you send a broadcast to everyone who is already registered.

If the event has registered guests, the full broadcast composer appears below the Communications heading. If the event has no guests, you will see the message Publish event to configure emails instead.

Compose your message, choose the audience from the status and ticket-type filters, click Preview to review, and then click Send.

To cancel a single guest instead of the whole event, use Cancel Registration from the guest detail drawer. See Cancelling a registration.
