Connecting and disconnecting sites
Each Eventually team connects to one Squarespace site, which is what makes paid checkout run through your own store. Connect and disconnect from Settings, then Payments. Only owners and admins can change the connection.
Connect a site
Connecting sends you to Squarespace to authorize Eventually, then returns you to the app. Full walkthrough, including what Eventually creates in your store: Connect your Squarespace site.
You do not need a connected site to build events, brand your widget, or embed it. Connecting is what turns on paid ticket sales. Until then, buyers see Sales open soon on paid tickets, while free, RSVP, and external-registration events keep working.
Disconnect a site
Go to Settings and select Payments.
Click Disconnect on the site.
Disconnecting removes Eventually's order webhook from your Squarespace site and clears the stored credentials. The site's status changes to disconnected.
It also clears the link between your Eventually events and the products they created in your Squarespace store, so a later reconnection starts clean and rebuilds them rather than reusing stale references.
Paid checkout stops immediately when you disconnect. Orders placed in Squarespace while disconnected do not reach Eventually, so registrations from them will be missing.
What disconnecting does not do
Your Eventually data stays where it is. Events, attendees, waitlists, brand settings, and widgets are unaffected, and existing registrations remain on their events.
Do not disconnect to fix a permissions prompt
From Settings → Payments, a healthy connection shows a Reconnect button when its permissions are current, or Update permissions when it is missing newer ones. Both reauthorize the existing connection without disconnecting, so the site keeps its identity and its order history. Review the permissions listed — updating them leaves your events, products, and attendee data unchanged.
If the Squarespace site picker selects the wrong site, the existing connection stays intact; retry and choose your current site.
If sales are blocked and you are not sure why, work through Common checkout issues and solutions before disconnecting anything.
