Managing Your Account

Choose a domain registration term

During domain checkout, the Confirm step shows a registration term selector that lets you choose how many years to register each domain for. The available options depend on the domain extension, and the total price updates automatically based on the term you select.

How the term selector works

After you pick a domain on the Pick tab and complete the Contacts tab, the Confirm step displays a Term for [domain] selector for each domain in your order. The selector lists only the terms allowed for that extension. Most extensions support multi-year registration, while some require a minimum length.

Supported registration terms

For most domain extensions, you can choose:

  • 1 year

  • 2 years

  • 3 years

  • 5 years

  • 10 years

The .ai extension uses a special minimum. For .ai domains, the allowed terms are:

  • 2 years

  • 4 years

  • 6 years

  • 8 years

  • 10 years

.ai domains require a minimum 2-year registration and can only be registered in even-year increments.

Select a term and review the total

  1. Proceed through the domain purchase flow to the Confirm step.

  2. For each domain, open the term selector and choose the number of years you want to register it for.

  3. The total due today updates to reflect the per-year price multiplied by your selected term.

  4. Review the updated total and complete checkout.

The first allowed term is selected by default if you don't make a different choice.

What's next

After checkout, your domain registration is active for the term you selected.
