Ask them to check their spam or promotions folder. If it still doesn't appear, verify that you entered the correct email address. You can resend the invitation from the same location in Settings. Invitations expire after 7 days.
Transfer team ownership
You can hand off full ownership of a team to an existing team member or to someone new. If the person is already on the team, ownership transfers immediately. If they are new, they receive an email invitation and must accept it and set up billing before the transfer completes.
How ownership transfer works
The handoff has two paths depending on who you choose:
Existing team member — You pick a current non-owner team member or type their email. If the email matches an existing member, you click Transfer ownership and the move completes right away. You become an admin on the team.
Someone new — You enter a new email address and click Send handoff invitation. The recipient receives an email, clicks Accept ownership, chooses a plan, and sets up billing. Ownership transfers only after they finish setup. Until then, you remain the owner.
Invitations to new recipients expire after 7 days. If they don't accept in time, resend the invitation from the same location in Settings.
Initiate the handoff
Go to Settings and open the Company section.
At the bottom of the page, click Hand off to someone else.
In the Hand off {teamName} to someone else modal, enter the recipient's email in the Their email address field.
Use the placeholder guidance: Type an email or pick a team member. Start typing to see existing non-owner team members, or enter any email address for someone new.
Review the confirmation note that appears:
If the email matches an existing team member, the note shows: "[Name] is already on the team — ownership transfers right away." The button changes to Transfer ownership.
If the email does not match a team member, the note shows: "We'll email an ownership-transfer invitation to [email]." The button reads Send handoff invitation.
Type your team name in the confirmation field to confirm.
Click Transfer ownership or Send handoff invitation.
What the recipient sees
If they are already on the team
Ownership moves immediately. You receive a notification that the handoff is complete, and you become an admin on the team. The new owner does not need to take any additional steps.
If they are new to the team
The recipient receives an email explaining that you're handing over ownership. When they click the invitation link, they see a page titled Take ownership of [Team Name]. If they're not signed in with the invited email address, they're prompted to sign out and sign in with the correct account.
After clicking Accept ownership:
If billing is already active for the team, they're taken directly to the dashboard.
If billing isn't set up, they're guided through choosing a plan and entering payment information before reaching the dashboard.
Once they complete these steps, ownership officially transfers. You receive a notification that the handoff is complete.
After the transfer
When the handoff completes:
You become an admin on the team. You keep access and can continue to manage events, sites, or settings.
The recipient becomes the owner and takes over billing responsibility.
All event data, site configurations, and attendee information remain intact.
If you no longer need access after the handoff, you can leave the team from your account settings.
You cannot transfer ownership to yourself. Self-transfer is explicitly blocked.
Troubleshooting
The recipient can't find the invitation email
The invitation link shows as invalid or expired
Invitation links expire after 7 days. Send a new invitation from Settings to restart the process.
The recipient is signed in with the wrong account
If they see a message like "You're signed in as [email]. Sign out first if this invitation is for you," they need to sign out and open the invitation link again while signed in with the invited email address.
The handoff fails after clicking Transfer ownership
If you see "We couldn't complete the handoff," verify that the recipient is a current non-owner team member, that you entered the correct email, and that you are not attempting to transfer ownership to yourself. Check the details and try again.
