Transfer a ticket to a different attendee

Transferring a ticket means giving the same ticket to a different person. It does not change the event, class, or ticket tier. If you need to change the guest's ticket type or move them to a different class, see Change a guest's ticket tier or move them to a different class.

You can reassign a ticket to a different person from the attendee dashboard or from the ticket holder's self-serve management page.

Transfer from the attendee dashboard

Organizers can transfer a ticket directly from an attendee's record in the Guests section.

  1. Open the event in your Eventually dashboard and scroll to the Guests section.

  2. Click the attendee whose ticket you want to transfer.

  3. In the attendee detail modal, click Transfer under Manage ticket.

  1. Enter the new holder's name and a valid email address.

  2. Click Transfer ticket.

The transfer modal shows a New holder's name field and a New holder's email field. An optional note and a switch to email the new ticket link are also available.

The new holder receives a confirmation with their ticket and QR code.

Buyer-initiated transfer

Ticket holders can transfer their own ticket using the Manage your ticket link in their confirmation email.

  1. The ticket holder opens the management page from their confirmation email.

  2. They enter the new holder's name and email.

  3. They submit the transfer request.

  4. The new holder confirms the transfer via a link sent to their email.

The transfer is only complete after the new holder confirms. If the confirmation link expires, the ticket holder must start again.

Common issues

"That's the current holder. Enter a different person's email to transfer."

The email you entered already belongs to the current ticket holder. Use a different email address.

"Enter a valid email address."

The email address is malformed or missing. Check for typos and try again.

Transfer couldn't complete

If a transfer fails after confirmation, it may be due to a stale or tampered token. Start the transfer from the attendee dashboard or request a new transfer from the ticket holder's management page.
