Attendee Management

Change a guest's ticket tier or move them to a different class

Hosts can change a guest's ticket type or move them to a different event class from the attendee detail drawer. Before confirming, you'll see a preview of any price difference and an option to settle it in Squarespace.

Change a guest's ticket tier

Use this when the guest wants a different ticket type for the same event—such as upgrading from General Admission to VIP.

  1. Open the event in your Eventually dashboard and scroll to the Guests section.

  2. Click the guest's name or row to open the attendee detail modal.

  3. Under Manage ticket, click Change tier with the description Exchange ticket type.

  4. In the Change tier modal, select a New tier from the list.

  5. If the guest holds multiple seats, choose how many to change under Seats to change.

  6. Review the Balance to settle preview at the bottom of the modal.

  7. Click Change tier to confirm. If a price difference exists, settle it in Squarespace using the button shown.

Move a guest to a different class

Use this when the guest needs to switch to a different date or event class—such as moving from a Saturday workshop to the Sunday session.

  1. Open the event in your Eventually dashboard and scroll to the Guests section.

  2. Click the guest's name or row to open the attendee detail modal.

  3. Under Manage ticket, click Move class with the description Different class or date.

  4. Choose a Destination class from the dropdown.

  5. Select the Tier in destination they should receive.

  6. If the guest holds multiple seats, choose the Quantity to move.

  7. Review the Balance to settle preview at the bottom of the modal.

  8. Click Move & rebalance to confirm. Inventory rebalances automatically, and the guest receives a new ticket link.

Moving a class issues the guest a new ticket link, and their old link stops working. Squarespace handles the actual payment; Eventually records the change for your records.

What the balance preview shows

Before you confirm a tier change or class move, the modal shows a Balance to settle section that explains the price difference:

  • Buyer owes {amount} — The new tier or class costs more than what was originally paid. Click Send a {amount} pay link in Squarespace to invoice the difference.

  • Buyer is owed {amount} — The new tier or class costs less. Click Create {amount} credit code in Squarespace to issue a discount code for the difference.

  • Even exchange — nothing to reconcile. — The price is the same. No Squarespace action is needed.

  • Looks like a comped ticket — no payment on record. — The guest was not charged through Eventually. The preview warns you that tiers differ by a specific amount, but there's nothing to reconcile inside Eventually. Double-check whether the guest was charged or is owed outside the platform.

The button text adapts to the exact amount, such as Send a $10.00 pay link in Squarespace or Create $10.00 credit code in Squarespace. The destination in Squarespace is Invoicing for pay links and Discounts for credit codes.

Difference between changing tier, moving class, and transferring

  • Change tier keeps the guest on the same event but switches their ticket type.

  • Move class moves the guest to a different event or date and assigns a new ticket type there.

  • Transfer gives the same ticket to a different person without changing the event or tier. See Transfer a ticket to a different attendee for details.
