Install and connect the Eventually panel in Squarespace

Install the Eventually extension on your Squarespace site and sign in once to connect, and the Eventually panel appears in your Squarespace admin so you can manage your events without leaving the site. The panel only runs in Squarespace admin mode — it does nothing on your public-facing site.

What the panel is

The Eventually panel is an overlay that activates only in Squarespace admin or edit mode. It adds an Eventually button and drawer to your Squarespace admin where you can view your upcoming events and, when Evie is enabled, create a draft event from a plain-language description. The script checks for Squarespace admin signals and returns without injecting the panel when you're viewing the live site.

When you open an upcoming event row, the row can show a line such as “+N today registered”: the seats registered that day, with the day following the team's event timezone. The count covers active room seats by quantity, so cancelled registrations and add-on tickets don't add to it. On a sold-out event, the line ends with “and the waitlist is open” when an attendee can currently join a waitlist; when no waitlist is open, the row still identifies the event as sold out, for example “+N today registered · sold out”. The line doesn't appear on a day with no registrations, and it only reports what happened: it doesn't turn a waitlist on or off. Anyone who can open the event row sees it.

Before you start

You need a Squarespace site with admin access, and an Eventually account where you're a member of the team for that site and have finished account setup. A team member whose account setup is still pending can't connect the panel.

The current installation is the Squarespace extension, which adds the panel to your site without a pasted script. The Code Injection steps below are the legacy installation path.

Install the panel with Code Injection (legacy)

1. In your Squarespace site, open Settings → Advanced → Code Injection → Header.

2. Paste the panel script, replacing YOUR_PANEL_KEY with your site's panel key:

3. Save the header.

Installed the panel with an older snippet? Snippets that use ?sid= no longer work: the panel ignores them and shows nothing. The browser console logs [Eventually panel] Missing ?key= in script src. for an old snippet. Replace the old script in Code Injection with the key-based script above.

Connect the panel on first use

1. Open your Squarespace site in admin or edit mode.

2. Click the Eventually pill in the Squarespace 7.1 editor's top bar, beside the desktop/phone view toggle, to open the panel. If the top bar doesn't show the pill, click the Eventually button in the corner instead. The panel shows Connect to Eventually and Sign in to connect →.

3. Click Sign in to connect →. A popup titled Connect the Eventually panel opens, showing the site and origin being connected.

4. Click Connect. The popup shows Connected. You can close this window. and the panel loads your upcoming events.

If your Eventually account setup isn't finished yet, the popup shows "Finish setting up your Eventually account first, then connect the panel." instead of the Connect confirmation. Click Finish setting up your account to open the welcome flow for the site's team in a new tab, finish setup there, then click I've finished, try again in the popup to reload the connection.

Connection lifetime and reconnecting

The connection lasts 12 hours and does not renew automatically. When it expires, the panel clears the session and returns to Connect to Eventually and Sign in to connect → — there is no separate Reconnect button. To reconnect, click Sign in to connect → and complete the popup confirmation again.

If you're removed from the Eventually team, panel access ends immediately, even before the 12 hours are up. Panel sessions also end when your team access returns to the pending-setup state. If the panel won't connect or stops loading events, see Troubleshoot the Eventually panel in Squarespace.

Who can connect and what they can do

Any current member of the connected Eventually team can complete the panel connection and read panel data once their account setup is finished. Sensitive pre-sale changes — creating, updating, deleting, rotating, archiving, or activating pre-sales — and seeing plaintext access codes require owner or admin role. See Roles and permissions.

Panel vs. checkout connection
