Connect Papersign and require signed waivers
Papersign, Paperform's e-signature product, sends waivers and agreements for attendees to sign, and saves the signed PDF to each registration automatically. Connect it once in your dashboard settings, then switch it on for each event in the event editor.
A signed waiver is never required to complete registration. Attendees finish checkout whether or not they have signed; the waiver request goes out separately.
Before you start
A Papersign account with an API key. Papersign is Paperform's e-signature product; the Create new in Papersign link in the event editor opens Paperform's Papersign page where you create your waiver document.
An owner or admin role in your Eventually dashboard. Only owners and admins can connect or disconnect Papersign.
Waivers enabled for your team. If they are not switched on yet, the Papersign card says: Waivers aren't switched on for this team yet. Ask us to enable them and this form will unlock.
Connect Papersign
Connect from Settings > Integrations using the Papersign card.
Paste your Papersign API key into the Papersign API Key field.
Click Test connection. A successful test shows Connection verified with your account name.
Click Connect. The button stays disabled until the key has tested successfully.
Connecting creates a Papersign folder called Eventually waivers, where the documents you use as waivers live. When the card shows CONNECTED with your account name, you are set.
Turn on waivers for an event
Each event uses one waiver document, which you choose from the drafts in your Eventually waivers Papersign folder.
Open the event editor and find Waivers + Signatures at the end of the Registration questions section. It is labeled E-signature.
Turn on Require a signed waiver. Until Papersign is connected, this item shows Connect Papersign instead of the switch.
Under Document, choose a template. If the list shows No documents in your Papersign folder yet, create the document in Papersign first.
Optional: under Prefill from registration, click Edit. The Prefill the waiver modal matches each waiver field to a registration answer so attendees never enter the same thing twice. Fields whose names line up are matched automatically; you can set each field to Don't prefill, Full name, Email address, or a custom registration question. Signer name and email always fill the signer. Click Save mapping.
Under Who signs, choose Every attendee (the default) or Just the buyer. Every attendee means one signing request per unique attendee email; attendees without an email address do not receive one.
Under When it's sent, choose Send at registration (the default) or Send after registration. The after-registration option sends one hour later, so attendee details added in that window are included in the prefill.
How attendees sign
Papersign emails each signer a request to sign the document; the signing itself happens on Papersign, outside Eventually. When the signature is complete, Papersign notifies Eventually and the signed PDF is saved to the registration automatically.
Track signatures and follow up
The attendee list shows a Waiver column with each attendee's status: Signed, N of M for group signatures, Viewed, Sent, Declined, or Not sent, plus a Waivers Signed summary. The event page feed shows the same status with labels like Waiver signed and Waiver unsigned.
Send appears on registrations marked Not sent and sends the waiver immediately.
Remind appears on Sent and Viewed registrations. The reminder email is titled Reminder: please sign your waiver for [event name] and links to Review & sign.
Remind unsigned in the toolbar reminds everyone with an outstanding request in one batch, up to 500 at a time.
Download signed waiver saves the signed PDF for an individual attendee. Waiver status and signed documents are not included in the CSV export.
Change or remove a waiver
Choosing a new template never affects requests already sent. Signed, viewed, and sent requests keep the document they received; only a request that has not gone out yet uses the new template.
Turning off Require a signed waiver stops new automatic sends and keeps every existing request, Papersign document, and signed PDF. The Send and Remind actions in the attendee list stay available only while the event still requires waivers, so switch the requirement back on to send reminders for outstanding requests.
For recurring events, the waiver settings on the root event carry over to each occurrence. If you customize an individual occurrence, that occurrence keeps its own waiver settings.
Accept terms and conditions without a signature
If you need attendees to tick a terms-and-conditions box rather than sign a document, use a required Checkbox (single) registration question instead. See Custom registration questions and fields.
